    The Ultrasound Department provides inpatient, outpatient and emergency services. Routine ultrasound services include obstetrical, gynecological, abdominal, small parts, color flow, and spectral Doppler diagnostic examinations. Services are offered in the department as well as at bedside to patients in the ICU and the PCU.

    Role Purpose

    Responsible for supervising the day-to-day operations of primary departments of responsibility, which may include Diagnostic Radiology, CT, MRI, Mammography, Interventional, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound.

    Responsibilities

    Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
    Monitors and organizes department resources to maximize productivity and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
    Serves as liaison between staff and physicians.
    Evaluates the care and testing delivered and intervenes appropriately to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
    May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

    The Missouri Baptist Medical Center Cardiac Testing department is a diagnostic testing center which focuses on identifying and evaluating cardiac disease processes.     POSITION SUMMARY:
    Proficient with OB/GYN ultrasound with RDMS certification to determine length of pregnancy and other needed medical information. Flexibility in hours, some evenings and weekends required. Assist in laboratory and all surgical areas as needed. Stamina required for patient lifting and standing for long periods of time.

    PRIMARY DUTIES PERFORMED
    Assess and document length of pregnancy using ultrasound
    Warm and supportive demeanor with patient during ultrasound
    Assist physician in the procedure room as needed
    Ability to document in the electronic health record efficiently and accurately
    Replace Lab Technician, Surgical Assistant and Recovery Room Nurse when needed and based on training and licensing
    Adhere to affiliate policies on professionalism, wait time, and the system for addressing client complaints.
    Participate in surgical center/affiliate efforts to achieve established productivity and revenue cycle goals.
    Other duties as needed

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
    Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
    Current Missouri RN/LPN License if applicable. I understand that it is my professional obligation to keep all licensure and certification up to date and to provide a copy of such to the affiliate. I understand that current licensure (and certification, if applicable) is a condition of my employment.
    CPR, ACLS and IV certification as required by state
    Knowledge of Quality Assurance, Risk Management and Infection Control standards and policies
    Knowledge in human sexuality and family planning
    Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff and volunteers
    Bilingual skills a plus, particularly Spanish or Serbo-Croatian or Vietnamese
    Ability to maintain productivity standards in a fast paced clinical environment

    QUALITY ASSURANCE/RISK MANAGEMENT
    Adheres to PPSLRSWMO and department policies that ensure the provision of the highest quality and most professional services to all PPSLRSWMO clients
