    Summary
    Works closely with the radiologist to perform diagnostic and vascular ultrasound procedures at the technical level, contributing to the efficient operation of the department and promoting the philosophy, to ensure the quality and continuity of patient care. Maintains the standard of care delivered to infants, toddlers, preschool and school age children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

    Education and/or Other Requirements
    Must be ARDMS registered or be actively pursuing registration. One year of clinical experience in a progressive Ultrasound Department or Ultrasound Training Program that meets with the ARDMS requirements for registry eligibility is required. Must have previous experience as a Registered ARRT Technologist. Must have a valid driver's license in order to drive to Kirby Hospital on interdepartmental rotation. Must be CPR certified.

    Job Description:
    Utilizes diagnostic ultrasound under the supervision of a qualified doctor or medicine or physician, who responsibility is the use and interrelation of ultrasound procedures.
    Must maintain patient confidentiality.
    Must be registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS.)
    Must be a graduate of an AMA or CAHEA accredited educational program in diagnostic medical sonography or have obtained equivalent experience.
    Must have experience in abdominal, gynecology, and obstetric, colorflow and small parts.
    Must be personally responsible to obtain continuing education hours/credits (CME) to maintain registry.
    Must have a positive attitude, the ability to react in emergency situations, and the ability to learn new procedures quickly.
    Must be willing to become registered in Vascular Ultrasound.

    OB/GYN office in search of Certified RDMS Sonographer. 24-32 hours per week, includes 1 evening per week and 2 Saturday's per month.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    Performs ultrasound examinations per scanning protocols, correcting patient history with examination and presents study to physician for examination while adhering to patient schedules.
    Assists physicians with procedures, providing sonographic guidance during process, obtains necessary supplies and equipment and monitors patient needs assisting physicians with patient support.
    Maintains documentation as required including patient files and completes paperwork needed for procedures/processes.
    Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
